The Role

The role of Senior IT Support Analyst is to enable the growth, security and reliability of the CIPHR SaaS environment and the supporting business infrastructure. As new technology and software is developed by CIPHR, this role plays a large part in helping the team develop and then ensure processes are correctly followed to provide a consistently high standard of work and help maintain an efficient team.

This senior role within the Technical Operations team is one that is closly linked to the Team Leader’s function. The position’s main duty is to ensure that the SaaS offerings which CIPHR provides are monitored constantly. The alerts and log files generated by this monitoring should be reviewed regularly to guarantee that the environment, and it’s services, are fully functional and operating securely with a high level of resilience. It is expected that the position will check and confirm that CIPHR’s customer facing assets are successfully patched, configured and are using the latest appropriate versions of software. A regular schedule of penetration testing of the  CIPHR SaaS Environment and supporting business infrastructures attack vectors will be performed, the results reviewed and remedial action documented. It is also expected that the role will provide day-to-day guidance and support for other members of the team. 

Essential Skills

To have experience in administrating and supporting

Key tasks include 

  • Analysing monitoring systems and identifying potential issues
  • Researching and creating business cases for new software and services that would improve the CIPHR SaaS Service and/or reduce overall costs to the business
  • Performing routine audits of systems and processes to check for appropriate level of performance
  • Ensuring that operating system updates, patches, and appropriate configuration changes are applied
  • Installing and configuring new hardware and software
  • Performing regular penetration tests and presenting documented remedial actions based on the results
  • Responsibility for documenting the configuration of the CIPHR SaaS Environment
  • Troubleshooting any reported problem that needs to be escalated by the lower level team members
  • Ensuring that all elements of the CIPHR SaaS Environment and it’s services are operating correctly and securely
  • Providing 2nd / 3rd line support to the more junior job roles in the team
  • Helping teach proper processes, technical knowledge and skills to the less senior members of the team
  • Developing new scripts and enhancing existing ones to help automate any manual tasks
  • Help refine existing team processes and creating new ones to increase the team's efficiency and productivity
