Vacancy for Cloud Operations Administrator

About the role

Ciphr is a very successful Software as a Service provider. It has a large number of diverse customers using systems located in the Ciphr Cloud Environment. This role is focussed on ensuring the on-going management of that environment’s efficiency, security, and resilience. It is also important that the role is constantly challenging the existing methodologies and processes to make sure that Ciphr is keeping up with the latest advancements in technology

Responsible for the day-to-day availability, monitoring, maintenance, incident response and resolution of the Ciphr Cloud Environment

Including but not limited to

  • Responsible for patch management on all Microsoft OS and software used within the Ciphr Cloud environment
  • Responsible for managing Cloud host configurations and the builds they are based on
  • Certificate management
  • Troubleshoot and perform triage of failed instances or services
  • Group policy management for the Ciphr Cloud domain
  • Systems account management (provisioning, deprovisioning and permissions update) for the Ciphr cloud environment and the supporting information systems within it
  • Create and maintain supporting documentations

About you:

Some experience in the field of systems management in an complex environment

Will be competent in:

  • Microsoft Windows Server management (2016,2019, IIS)
  • Creation of PowerShell scripts
  • Managing SQL Server installations
  • Microsoft Active Directory management
  • DNS Management
  • Automating processes – Octopus Deploy or similar knowledge would be beneficial

A logical thinker with a pragmatic approach to issues

Have a mind for looking to automate repetitive tasks

Enjoy researching new technologies and methodologies as new solutions to existing challenges

Looking to move forward and develop skills in an Azure environment

  • Azure certifications beneficial but not required
  • Mindful of information Security and best practices when operating in a Cloud environment
