About the role  

Working in our busy team of Business Development Executives (BDE), you will become part of the next generation of CIPHR employees to join our future talent programme seeking to build a career within a Sales field. 

What is a BDE you may ask? They are part of our sales teams at CIPHR that are the first line of contact for all our prospective customer.   

As a BDE you will be responsible for researching new sales opportunities, identifying what is trending in the market and keeping an eye on our competition. You will be building long-term trusting relationships with potential customers, booking initial sales chats and supporting our senior sales team in building new customer partnerships. 

Our Business Development Executives are key members of not only the Business Development team but also the Sales function of the business and enable CIPHR to achieve its vision - to help organisations unlock the value of their people.   

As a Business Development Executive on our Future Talent scheme, you will be full supported to achieve a nationally recognised Level 4 Sales Executive Diploma awarded by the Association of Professional Sales (APS). by the end of your first 18 months at CIPHR. 

In your first 4-6 weeks, before starting your qualification journey, you will spend time getting to know the team, the role and the organisation to set you up for your next steps.  

What you’ll be doing  

  • By the end of the programme, you will be confident in the process of understanding our customers’ needs, challenges and future strategies and use this information to create potential sales opportunities for the wider sales team 

  • You will be researching key stakeholders across our customer base 

  • Relationship building will be a key skill you will learn. You will use it to forge relationships with potential customers and with the wider team.  

  • We will help you expand on your communication skills and teach you how to conduct early-stage sales calls to gather intelligence about potential customers current and future needs.  

  • You will also work with the marketing team to create campaigns that help unlock opportunities across the customer base. 

  • Alongside all of this you will be supported as you study towards your Level 4 Sales Executive Diploma to gain your qualification  

Future Talent Scheme facts 

  • This is a full time, permanent position   

  • The Future Talent programme is 18 months  

  • Throughout the programme there will a blended approach to your learning, consisting of classroom-based learning, digital modules and hands on experience to build your knowledge and skills. 

  • A dedicated skills coach/mentor will be on hand to support you along the way 

  • You will work towards the following qualification: Sales Executive Level 4 Programme, and will receive a Level 4 Sales Executive Diploma, awarded by the Association of Professional Sales (APS). 

What do we need from you?  

  • You will need to have GCSE/O ’Level Grades A*-C (4-9). Don’t worry, if you do not have these qualifications, we will help you achieve the equivalent level qualification as part of the Future Talent programme.  

  • A confident communicator and team player

  • Enthusiastic about all things CIPHR 

  • A resilient attitude  

  • A desire to understand technology, and have an inquisitive mind when it comes to learning the latest in technology trends  

  • Our offices are in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. You will need to be able to commute to this location on a regular basis 

The application process  

Once your application has been submitted it will be reviewed and our Talent team will be in touch to confirm if you have been invited to the next stage (so look out for our email, you may need to check your junk mail just in case)  

We know that a CV can only tell us so much about you so you will be invited to complete our interactive assessment. This will take you approximately 45 minutes to complete and will consist of a number of situational judgement questions, along with some numerical and verbal reasoning tests and will conclude with a video interview.  

This assessment has been designed to look for grit and determination, a willingness to embrace our digital reality and the ability to apply your creativity and knowledge to solve any problem.  

It won’t require any prior knowledge or expertise; we are simply looking at your potential and what you could bring to CIPHR.  

The final stage of your application will be an assessment day at our office in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. You’ll have the opportunity to impress us through a variety of tasks, which may include a group discussion, an individual interview, and smaller programme related exercises.  

Once you’ve completed your assessment day, we’ll let you know when you can expect to hear back from us. 

What you’ll get  

Starting salary of £20,000. We will provide you with all the equipment you need plus 25 days annual leave (28 after 3 years services), plus bank holidays, Pension, Life assurance, medical cover and dental cover and access Perks at Work – access to exclusive discounts, cinema tickets, etc. CIPHR also had a referral scheme where we rewards employees who refer great people into the company by giving them £1,500 per referral. 

We will also fully fund your qualification and associated training through the programme.
