Assistant Financial Accountant

CIPHR are a rapidly expanding, innovative, UK based tech company who provide online (SaaS) HR systems and solutions to help organisations attract, engage, manage and retain their workforce more effectively.

About the role:

Our business is growing and we need to enhance our team with an Assistant Financial Accountant to work in this busy and close-knit finance team of 9.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this person will ideally have commenced studying for their professional accountancy qualification

This is a progressive role with the scope to broaden your skills alongside your studies.



  • Accurate and timely completion of month end tasks, including spend analysis, intercompany  and journal entries into the Sage accounting system
  • Calculating monthly revenue recognition and ensuring deferred revenue is accounted for
  • Ensure accurate calculation and payment of Sales Commission
  • National Statistic reporting
  • Balance sheet analysis and reconciliations
  • Quarterly VAT Returns
  • Drive continuous improvement within Finance, reviewing and streamlining processes
  • Cover for other members of staff as and when required


About You:

  • Have a pro-active approach to work, a self-starter, who has some transactional finance experience and exposure to month end procedures
  • Able to deliver a high level of customer service in both written and verbal communication
  • Active studier for ACCA, ACA or CIMA, a study package is available to support exam progress
  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (Navision) / CRM and Sage is desirable
